This year marks the 7th annual Crush Cancer Golf Tournament, and once again, it’s about so much more than a day on the greens. It’s a tradition rooted in community, compassion, and the belief that when neighbors stand together, hope can overcome hardship.
Crush Cancer began with a simple vision: to bring people together through golf, fellowship, and generosity, all while directly supporting a Western North Carolina neighbor in need. Each year, the tournament raises funds to ease the financial and emotional burden carried by families facing a cancer diagnosis. It’s about reminding those in the fight that they are not alone.
This year, that family is led by Sherry Griffin.
A fourth-generation West Asheville native, Asheville High graduate, and former owner of Attractions Hair Design, Sherry is known for her kindness, resilience, and devotion to her family. Recently, she was diagnosed with Papillary Thyroid Cancer and a rare, aggressive leukemia called T-Cell Prolymphocytic Leukemia (T-PLL). Her treatment requires extended care at Duke University, creating both emotional and financial strain.
Yet through it all, Sherry’s courage shines—reminding us why Crush Cancer exists. This tournament is more than a fundraiser; it’s a way of telling Sherry and her family: you are not alone in this fight.
The venue itself makes the event even more special. The Grove Park Inn and Country Club, one of Asheville’s crown jewels, offers breathtaking views and a course that is both challenging and unforgettable. For many, it’s a once-in-a-lifetime chance to play on a course with such prestige. And here’s the incredible part—participating in Crush Cancer actually costs less than reserving a tee time and playing there on your own. That means golfers not only enjoy a first-class experience at an unbeatable value, but they also make a direct impact on a cause that matters deeply to Western North Carolina families.
Of course, none of this would be possible without the generosity of our sponsors. At CENTURY 21 Connected, we know real estate is about more than buying and selling homes—it’s about building stronger communities. Supporting Crush Cancer is one of the ways we give back, because we believe that home is not just where you live, but who you live it with.
Every swing, every sponsorship, and every dollar raised at Crush Cancer 2025 will help us stand with Sherry and her family. Golf may be the game, but the mission is far greater: to crush cancer together.
Join us this year. Play for a cause, lift up a neighbor, and help us prove once again that hope always wins. 🎗️
